Optiviva Inc. (Guangzhou, China, and Northern California, USA) announces today the general availability of its patent pending MEMS Variable Attenuator, MVOA-300. The new line of MEMS Variable Attenuators (VOAs) is designed to meet the Telcordia 1209 and 1221 requirements. Comparing to our existing MVOA-200 and MVOA-250 product line, this new MVOA-300 has dramatically improved the product’s performance and stability with it’s unique assembly technique. Particularly, the MVOA-300 VOAs have adopted the industry’s popular TO-46 packaging style with Optiviva’s own proprietary of hermetic sealing technology. MVOA-300 VOA offers two configurations: blocking(minimum attenuation at power off)and non-blocking (maximum attenuation at power off). This line of VOAs is designed for the broad applications in dynamic optical modules like R-OADM, V-Mux, OXC and EDFA. MEMS VOA brings clear advantages in cost, speed, power consumption, and size, in applications such as channel equalization, gain-tilt control and transmission protection, etc .
Optiviva is a Sino-US joint venture, formed by Applied Photonic Products Inc. (California) and ZCTD(Guangzhou, China).
